Showcase Events

Unlocking the Reading Framework Showcase

These FREE showcase events are an opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of the Reading Framework, see practice in action, reflect on your own practice and develop an action plan for improvement.

The session will cover:

  • The importance of reading and a conceptual model 
  • Language comprehension
  • Word reading and spelling
  • Children at risk of reading failure
  • Leadership and management
  • Building on the foundations with older pupils

Lesson visits will include:

  • Reception - language rich environment and effective adult interactions
  • Year 1 - reading practice sessions
  • Year 2 - developing fluency
  • Year 4 - explicit teaching of comprehension skills
  • Year 5 - using dialogic talk to support reading development

When and Where? 

We will be hosting 2 Reading Framework Showcase events during 2023-24 at Burley Woodhead CE Primary School LS29 7RQ on the following dates:

Thursday 18th January 2024 8.15am to 3.00pm - FULLY BOOKED

Wednesday 20th March 2024 8.15am to 3.00pm - FULLY BOOKED

Early Language Showcase
 

These FREE showcase events are an opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of early language, see practice in action, reflect on your own practice and develop an action plan for improvement.

The session will cover:

  • Gain an understanding of early language 
  • Help teachers to identify how to create a language rich environment
  • Provide pracical classroom skills and techniques for quality first teaching in Early Years and Key Stage One

Who should attend? 

  • Senior Leaders
  • EYFS Leaders
  • EYFS Teachers

When and Where? 

We will be hosting 2 Early Language Showcase events during 2023-24 at Newby Primary School, BD5 7DQ on the following dates:

Wednesday 4th October 2023 8.30am to 12.30pm

Wednesday 17th January 2024 8.30am to 12.30pm

Wednesday 20th March 2024 8.30am to 12.30pm
